The saga of the world of tar, a fatalistic drug of the future, a world saturated in the influence of a highly technologically advanced form of VR, a saga begun in Requiem for the Reaper and Gorilla Hands of God, continues in this newest chapter concerning a mannequin kept by the widow of a war hero as a chaste tribute to him which ultimately begins to show unexpectedly sensual and supernatural qualities. Creeping luminescent mist of alien origin seems to have brought it to life. Meanwhile the obscure nature of Frederick’s relationship with the menacing Jimmy Lively comes to light, as this ambiguous predator advances upon him from out of a virtual dream soaked in essences of Frederick’s past, a dream he has no memory of.
