Former lovers, Dan and Amber, are thrust together on a business trip to rural Maine. Even though the two can barely stand each other, fate and bad decisions have forced this union upon them. Both are working for a low end TV production company their task is to scout out a potential house and its inhabitants for a reality show about hoarding, called Pack Rats. Dan is a former independent filmmaker who never quite 'went Hollywood' and Amber had her chance at the brass ring but couldn't keep her hands to herself. Once inside the dilapted house, they realize nothing is what it seems and somethings you just can’t throw away…Excerpt:Moving blurry Images on a screen and Commercial-style voice over says, “Tonight on Pack Rats!”, A wild camera shot captures a cavern with walls made of Newspapers, magazines, books and who knows what. A man’s warbly voice says, “Last time I saw her, she was feeling really bad…”. A woman’s voice responds, “Bobby when was that?”The camera continues down the human-created trench, standing on the “trail”, there is no floor, only another layer of stuff. A tall, thin man with long greasy hair. He looked like he just stepped out of the 70s. He is hanging his head and looking for the answer in the walls of newspapers, “I don’t know...last week...maybe…”More walking, more shaky camera…. The woman says, “....oh, my god….under those papers...is..that….?” A very quick shot of a woman’s fat, bloat, multi-colored arm. A man wailing and sobbing loudly at first and fades off.Lucas Knight is the creator of the cult television series Dark Currents, Strange America and the horror films, Frostbite and After the Beep… He is a Copyright Purist and Copyright Reform Activist.
