100 years after global warming destroyed the majority of the world, the place once known as the United States of America resides in a state of strict tyranny. It exists as a small secluded society that controls every choice that people make. In order to fight overpopulation and deficient resources, the parents of every new 18 year old are killed in order to make room for the next generation. Through the points-of-view of Mercy, the typical product of an unfeeling society, and Faust, the only person with morals left, this is a short story of what makes the human race unique and how the emotions that humans are capable of feeling are something that's often underrated.
