In 1992 Peter Mackenzie is a down-on-his-luck guitar player who is broke and giving up his dream of making it in the music business. He’s hitching his way back from Los Angeles to live out his days on the old family farm in Gibson, Illinois. On a stormy night on the road, he stops in Jefferson City, Missouri, to spend his last two dollars on a cup of coffee and a bowl of chili. The action starts immediately as he takes on one of the local football jocks in order to save the very attractive waitress, Kathy Lynwood. From that point on, Peter becomes entangled in a series of events that will involve murder, drugs, and a ghost who wants revenge.
