About the Author

Paula and Clayton Trout's children's book series, Boogie Street Monster Squad, takes characters from our own universe of folklore to deliver tales about monsters on a quest to find out if people are real. The first book in the series introduces the main characters and explains how they began the Boogie Street Monster Squad. In their second book, There's a Monster in Our School, the Squad uses their monster huntin' skills to show Sammy Sasquatch just what a bully he is. The third story in the series is Never Play Kickball With a Bigfoot. This is a fun story about the Squad getting together to play kickball. It's all good until Benny Bigfoot kicks. It's a kick that Marty tries to catch and can't. The ball is lost, and so is Marty. This calls for the Squad to use their monster-hunting skills to find Marty and their ball."We all face a monster at some time or another," Trout says. "For children, some of these monsters might be changing schools, dreading a test, or just trying to fit in. We want kids to see that the Boogie Street Monster Squad faces the same monsters while some of the Squad's adventures are also just for fun."The series includes three journals, Nellie Lochness Adventure Journal, Benny Bigfoot's Adventure Journal, and The Boogie Street Monster Squad Adventure Journal. Each journal features lined and blank pages, writing prompts, and activities.
