The Orbs, the all-powerful deities dwelling inside Adira, influence her every action, from who she kills to how she will one day die. She is cursed to a life of war. Depending on who you ask, the humans she is programmed to destroy or the demons who see her as a means to an end, she's viewed as both a savior and the devil itself. That power threatens to shake the cruelest person she knows, her father. And, unfortunately for her, that means invoking the pain of something far worse than death. But what's worse? Being tortured by her father's hand, or deceiving him to become the savior of humans, the very creatures she despises, to give her the thing she's always wanted: the opportunity to die.
