Widow's Byte By J. von Minden Synopsis Loosely based on actual testimony given to the United States Congress inquest into occult activities: Psychiatric Nurse Susan Anderson deals with her own issues of anxiety that nearly paralyze her until she meets Aja in an Internet chat-room. The friendship they form methodically leads Susan into the world of the occult as she learns about MPD (multiple personality disorder) and cult programming. At the same time, Susan finds herself stalked by cultist, Maximilian Regen. She finds no sympathy or assistance from the local police, but Aja comes to her rescue in both moral support and physical protection. Susan learns that Aja is more than just a well meaning friend, and has deep connections within the occult. Falling in love with Aja, Susan's heart overrides her mind and she progresses into the occult until she's completely submerged into another world. Empowered by Aja, Susan confronts Regen. The bloodbath ends more than just Susan's rivalry with Regen. Susan witnesses her own death and rebirth, and emerges like a butterfly from its cocoon.
