A Certain Patient Man

It all makes sense now. The door to the west leads out of here.The glowing sphere reappears over your head as you leave the room. This time, it floats straight down and then back up again. It flies around the circle several times before disappearing behind the clouds.As you approach the circle, a strange mist rises from the ground. You can't tell if it's a cloud or just fog; no matter where you stand, you can only see about thirty feet ahead of you. The air is cold and damp; it seems to be coming from under the ground itself.Inside the circle, a shimmering blue light appears. At first glance, it looks like nothing more than a field of grass growing up out of the ground. But when you look closer, you can see that the blades of grass aren't real; they've been replaced with thin, translucent strands of smoke.In the middle of the circle stands a ghostly apparition, its face obscured by an endless haze. Its arms hang limp at its sides, and its body sways gently in the wind.The apparition begins to speak, but you can't hear it. Instead, a voice speaks inside your head:"I am the spirit of the Circle.This is my home.Come close, I will show you."You kneel down beside it and press your ear against its chest. "Can you speak?" you ask.The apparition turns its head to look at you. Its face clears for a moment - and then it vanishes entirely.
