1944: The resistance might be working. Information is moving. Soldiers are dying. The shepherdess keeps her sheep, and a few secrets for the resistance, too. She's also more than happy to murder any Bavarian soldiers who cross her path. The occupying soldiers aren't suspicious; after all, there have long been rumors of a great, wolf-like beast roaming the area, picking off livestock and lone travelers. The shepherdess is happy to let the rumors take blame for her handiwork, that is, until bodies start to appear, bodies that she didn't leave to rot. It occurs to her that she may not be the most dangerous thing in the hills anymore.
