Rebecca's life is turned upside down when a demon named "Joy" bursts into her world and forces her to type the demon's life story. Through the bizarre encounter, Rebecca comes to learn more about the true nature of evil and good as well as question her own role in it. As Joy's tale unfolds through centuries of early human and angel history culminating in Joy's own showdown with Jesus, Rebecca is forces to face several of her preconceived notions about God and spirituality. Likewise, Joy is forced to reconcile her own reasons for rebelling against God and hatred of humanity as the tale scarcely pans out the 'lock-tight' proof of demonic superiority that Joy initially intends.
