About the Author

The author was born and raised in the south Florida melting pot of American culture but migrated as an eager runaway to the Golden Gate shores in the sixties. Once when he passed through northern New Mexico on his way to parts unknown, he decided to keep the state as a home base. He has worked for government agencies on the social, health, and environmental problems left in the wake of mining boom times and this allowed him to become intimate with the places and people he writes about in this novel. The overwhelming size and severity of problems associated with uranium mining in the four corners country encompassing New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah gave birth to the thoughts and feelings he expresses in this book.
