The book starts off with a séance (popular in the late 1930’s) with six people concerned about the murder of the husband of one of the six. The séance takes place in 1938, and then the book goes back in time to midnight 1930, ushering in the 1930’s decade. It proceeds to the séance in an interesting and exciting manner, encompassing many locations and historical occurrences. It then continues from the séance to the end of the decade. The book includes many of the period occurrences cleverly woven into several interesting plots and sub plots, involving adventure, romance, and murder.
