This is the story of a young boy born to a wealthy family in Singapore, who remembers that he had a previous life as a Japanese Officer killed by Burmese villagers with his own sword during the Second World War. Inducted to mysticism by his Chinese cook and other Mystics, the boy embarks on a fantastic adventure to find his former identity. As part of this adventure of self-discovery, his Mystic mentors set him the task of helping to restore the balance between Good and Evil in the world. Thus, the boy is led into a world of Magic and Mystery, beyond his wildest dreams. This book is a semi-autobiography, written with a huge dollop of fantasy and a large pinch of mischief. The author is a medical doctor and an acupuncturist living in Ireland. Originally from Singapore, he speaks a dozen languages, paints, writes poetry and is an exponent in martial arts; the study of Japanese swords and other edged weapons being his main hobby. The author's interest in the various cultures of Asia and his intimate knowledge of the jungle forms the basis of this, the first of two books, Kembali ~ The Return of the Mystic, and the soon-to-come, Kembali ~ Into Unchartered Waters.
