Field of Nightmares

Everyone has experienced a nightmare at some point in their life. Whether it was triggered by a scary movie or ghost story told around a campfire, the relief upon waking up has always been realizing that, “It was only a dream!” Find out what happens when the horrifying events from a fourteen year old baseball stars dream comes true. Field of Nightmares combines great tension surrounding every day kids, with real-life settings and even the grand game of baseball woven into the story line. Bobby Drysdale is a phenom with a bright future ahead of him when his world begins to fall apart. He starts experiencing nightmares and whatever events happen in his dream, come true the next day and he is powerless to stop them. Adding to the mystery, he is being haunted by the ghost of a rich eccentric who built much of the town a half century ago. Bobby soon realizes that he is being forced to figure out what the connection is between the visits from the ghost and the horrific dreams. The threat of continuing nightmares, the anxiety felt by Bobby as his fear of sleeping grows and the mysterious story of Enos Cotter, all keep readers of Field of Nightmares guessing and turning pages deep into the night.

About the Author

Grayson Tumult first conceived Field of Nightmares as a short story written when the author was just twelve years old. Over the years, the characters and story lines grew until it was apparent to him that there was much more of the story to be told. The result is his first full length novel for middle grade readers, Field of Nightmares. Finishing this first novel has unlocked a myriad of story lines which laid dormant while he pursued a career in Operations Management. Now, these scary and sometimes dark accounts are all bursting to be put onto paper. His next effort will be an anthology of short stories due out in time for Halloween 2012, each of which is guaranteed to give readers a chill, a thrill or maybe even creep them out. A second, full length thriller is also currently being put to paper. This second novel will be geared toward adult audiences in order to provide them with an equal opportunity to be horrified deep into the night. Grayson Tumult has arrived late to the party as an author but vows to make it up to his readers over the coming months and years with future publications. He lives at home in Blasdell, New York with his wife Laura, and their three children.
