After being assaulted, Susannah Oliver cashes in her IRA's and, with $76,000 in cash takes refuge in her sisters NY apartment. Little does she know that in doing so she frees the spirit of Livia Germain Haskell, a feisty ghost with a shoe fetish who was murdered by her husband. With Livia's encouragement Susannah takes a job at Jed Spencer's antique shop. Still fearing she's being followed Susannah lives in fear and Livia becomes her protector.Her sisters, and her niece Julie, concerned by stories of ghosts and wondering if Susannah is sane.In her attempt at concealing her identity, Susannah spins a web of lies which she stumbles through until her niece Julie is taken by the man who assaulted her and the ghosts of New York join forces with the sisters in their quest to save Julie.
