About the Author

Eloise Hamann is a retired Professor Mathematics from San Jose State Universtiy referred to as the poet in the Mathematics Department. She was a contributor and editor to many academic newsletters as well as a publisher of papers in mathematics. She wrote a number of position papers advocating for justice and common sense both within and without academia. She resides in Dublin, California and is a political activist concerned with preserving the planet. She is the mother of an award winning poet, Shannon Hamann. All of Shannon's work was individually published in a variety of poetry journals including the prestigious New York Quarterly. After Shannon's death, she entered his poems in contests sponsored by publishers of collected works which resulted in publication by Pavement Saw under the title Deathdoubledactyl. She also posthumously prepared his novel Brad Pitt Won't Leave Me Alone for publication by Create Space. It was one of the three top novels in the 2012 Anderbo Self Published Book Contest Award.
