Three flash-fiction short stories about the terrors that await when the lights go out... Thrall – Gerald Gothingham is old. His family fortune is long gone, and of late he has started to see and hear things that he knows can't be there; things that are coming for him in vengeance for ancient wrongs. Lost in the Wood – Madeleine moves with her husband and young daughter Emily from the city to a nice quiet place in the country, which is so much safer for Emily than urban distractions, dangers, and temptations. Until she goes to play in the wood at the end of the farmhouse yard. Mould – Everything is bright and sunny and rosy – a near perfect life, and in fact things just couldn't be better, until one day dark, damp mould is everywhere. Fires sputter out and the rain relentlessly keeps on pouring. There seems to be no escape, and the rot follows three people who run away in desperation: because what brought the dankness into their lives goes with them no matter how far they run.
