Last Wink is the very first self-published novel by aspiring author Amanda Conley. It was fun to get her feet wet with this, but she is due to publish her second novel, The Speechwriter and the Dark Water, in 2018 with much more seriousness.Though the characters in Last Wink are meant to be light and humorous, the story is actually about a man who lost everything (except a big pile of money) at a somewhat young age and must find strength within himself to make a new path for his life. It addresses a few larger issues like trauma and spiritual healing but in a whimsical fantasy setting on a backdrop of dark humor.The sequel to Last Wink, called Strange Consorts, should become available in 2019. So if you liked this first Braided & Jaded story, please stay tuned.
