Dove Keeper

"[Dante's] book . . . approaches death, trauma, and grief with the utmost sensitivity and realism." – August Blair's "The Women-Centric Gothic Horror Novel We've Been Waiting For""Moving forward and back in time, the stories of three women . . . weave together to create a tale of loss, loneliness, and survival. Emily Deibler's Dove Keeper is an imaginative work of gothic horror, laced with eerily beautiful descriptors and haunting imagery . . . I can usually predict twists . . . but Dove Keeper was a true page-turner."For fans of classic or supernatural horror, the grotesque, gothic, Poe, Lovecraft, and others in that vein, I cannot recommend Deibler's work enough. With a debut novel like this, she is absolutely one to watch." –Laurel Lowe, poet"[Deibler] presents a compelling world that seamlessly weaves the mundane with the unfathomable. The characters are deeply and lovingly explored, making each one feel like someone you could reach out and touch as you read. A beautiful exploration of complicated relationships that shows real understanding of familial conflict and the layers of pain and love that make them. I pride myself in being good at spotting twists, but this one floored me." –Maeve Nettles, poet and artistSome doors are best left closed. 1918. World War I. Rennes, France.
