What would you do if the afterlife was nothing like you thought it would be? What if you found out there was no Heaven, no God, only a place called The Bureau For the Recently Departed? What would you do if you were told you had to go back and watch over complete strangers?Charlie, Alice, Katie, Alex and Otto all died on the same day and lived in the same apartment building in Chicago. Their boss says that makes them special. They are hand selected to come back and watch over the tenants that now reside in their old apartments. Easy enough job, right? From car chases to run away gargoyles, these interns have their work cut out for them. Throw in an angry, burned out case manager, a sweet Granny and a murder case to solve, death never has a dull moment! Just remember the rules for dead living: never travel though gates without your papers, don’t be out past curfew and never, ever take the door to the left. Ever. Love, friendship and self discovery awaits the five. Through laughter, fights and tears, the five learn the purpose of what life is all about.
