The Civil War has ended, yet greater horrors lurk beneath the South as Reconstruction begins. The Bloodgood manor sits atop a hill looming over inhospitable swampland, like a ghoul atop a burial mound, and teems with secrets, pacts, and loathsome degeneracy. Michael, the last remaining servant and half-sibling to the twin heirs of that abhorrent estate, slowly unravels the mystery of the Bloodgood family heritage, coming to terms with the hellish truths that compelled his own father to escape his terrible destiny through the muzzle of a loaded pistol. Voices call to Michael in the middle of the night, eyes flicker and fade in the swamps, and inhuman figures scamper through the hallways like half-glimpsed shades in search of the River Styx. Meanwhile, the wretched Twins---to whom his father bound Michael with his dying breath---torment their half-sibling with their blasphemous propensities and incessant scorn. Michael has felt ever as a man misplaced in space and time, and yet he is exactly where he needs to be to peel back the facade of the Antebellum Legacy and reveal the entities playing at Death beneath the tombs.
