A young couple inherit a house in a valley of the mountains in western North Carolina, The house is near a small town that was settled by Eastern Europeans in the 18th century. The locals tell them of a werewolf that roams the valley during nights of a full moon. They shrug it off as a local superstition. Days later the young man claims to have been bitten by a raccoon during a hike in the mountains, but locals warn his wife to be cautious because he may have been bitten by the werewolf, and will become one himself during the next full moon. She ignores the warning, but starts to worry as he begins to act very strange as the full moon approaches.
