Welcome to the lives and minds of four close friends: Vahan “V” Ward, the twenty-seven-year-old town psychic; his best friend, an African American army veteran and psychiatrist, sixty years his senior, Earl, and; Vahan's childhood friends and current roommates, beautiful, intelligent but emotionally damaged twins, Mattie and Mitt. Psychic by trade, V is unprepared to also become the town detective when he comes across what he believes could end in a new customer’s murder. His shop is Julius Henry's Oracle. As the generation raised on Harry Potter, Twilight and Fanfiction across every genre, grows into adulthood, they face a landscape their parents can’t picture, and for V and his friends that transition is tangible and terrifying. This novel not only acts a magical realism thriller, but as a Quarter-Life Crisis novel for all those entering their late 20’s confused about what it means to be an adult, and where their talents truly lie. Romance, familial drama, PTA bake sales and a bit of chaos all intersect with the group’s investigation, while they race against the clock to save a stranger who wandered into V’s shop on a whim. As the circles of the investigation get smaller and tighter, Vahan must come to the realization that he may have even had a hand in the murder, himself.
