Sharon McArthy’s short life came to an end when she was brutally murdered at work and she could not quite believe it. Standing over her blood stained body she was immediately drawn to Detective Sergeant Lisa Thompson who was in charge of the investigation. Lisa is a no nonsense officer who works on the facts presented to her. When the investigation falters Lisa’s immediate superior insists on outside help in the form of a practising Medium, Sheila Mitchell who has had a lot of success in the past. Lisa is reluctant to accept the help, but with little other choice both Lisa and Sheila start to work together. Sheila is able to contact Sharon McArthy on several occasions and is on the verge of discovering who the murder is when she is killed herself. Lisa starts to re-investigate the case and her prime suspects are best friends since childhood, Kevin Hardacre a Soldier based in Germany and John Dunne a Special Constable who works in a local factory, Kevin and John are initially oblivious to the fact that they are being investigated but it soon becomes apparent to them that they are. After John goes missing from work and is found in a deserted lane by a farmer and Kevin is AWOL from his barracks in Germany, Lisa enlists the help of Sharon to catch the killer. Sharon informs Lisa that when she was attacked she managed to get a glimpse of the person who killed her and she knows exactly who it is.
