Ghost Story: Ten Ounces of Gold is the tragic love story of Le and Khan. Although much of this story is purely fiction, portions are based on actual events following the Vietnam war. It gives a unique insight into the culture and beliefs of the Vietnamese people. Much has been said about the Vietnam war and its heavy cost, but not much has been told of the people that were left behind when America withdrew. With no support, these people were left with little or no hope. It was no wonder many would choose to risk their lives for the chance at a better future in that beacon hope that is the United States of America.
