About the Author

SUSAN HILL has been a writer for over fifty years. Her books have won awards and prizes including the Whitbread, the John Llewellyn Rhys and the Somerset Maugham; and have been shortlisted for the Booker. Her novels include The Woman in Black, Strange Meeting, I'm the King of the Castle and A Kind Man; and she has published autobiographical works as well as collections of short stories. She is also the author of the bestselling Simon Serrailler cases. The play of her ghost story The Woman in Blackhas been running in London's West End since 1988 and has also been made into a successful film.
