The final book in the Devil's Pike series finds investigative journalist Karl Mathers fighting a battle on many fronts. Local witnesses are coming forward having sighted a weird winged creature in the village and a series of strange deaths at the nursing homes leaves Karl and Officer Trent searching for answers. Added to all of that a ghostly pirate ship has been spotted off their coastline each evening and the Time Painting is depicting that a fate worse than death is about to descend on the village, it's enough to drive a man insane. While Karl is investigating these crazy cases, he is still managing to pursue Cryptid creatures across the country for the Ministry and keep his day job up and running interviewing the deranged villages with their awful stories. Can Karl solve the mysteries and keep the village safe from harm?
