The mayor of Widow's Peak, a picturesque lakeside town in western Ohio, is dead. Although his death was made to look like a suicide, Mike Pace - one of the first police officers on the scene - thinks differently. In the mayor's basement, Mike uncovers an archaeological dig of some sort with an array of ancient artifacts. Mike immediately contacts his brother Derek, a college history professor, and asks him to figure out what the relics mean. The investigation leads to lies and deception resulting in something unexpected and mysterious. The brothers discover a dark, supernatural power that threatens to tear them apart, with the ripples affecting them in ways they never could have imagined. Derek, with his wife, Lizzy, by his side, has to learn about his past and the secret of Widow's Peak. Will his faith be enough to stop the evil from endangering them? Or will Derek's past be too much for them to handle?
