Something for Christmas

Jim Cahan thought he had struck gold in the brilliant objects he found scattered around a very mysterious grove out on the prairie at the far end of his ranch, but within a short time he would see his world shattered by a violent force almost impossible for him to comprehend. While the characters are factious and not based upon any living persons, if you have ever lived in a small town or worked in a government research facility or security agency you will probably recognize them immediately.
