Dylan, known by the locals as Skeletal Face due to his skeleton resemblance, has been mythicised by the neighbourhood for his eccentricity and strangely behaved black cat. When Cody and Brooke encounter Skeletal Face by inadvertence, they discover that his cat is capable of orally producing silver eggs. These silver eggs enable them to be fully aware in their dreams and remember every dream, but as Cody and Brooke set out to explore the Dream Realm by these means, they realise there is more to the magickal eggs than just dreams, as they begin receiving strange visitations from otherworldly beings, and gain the ability to peer down the timeline to future events; at last they start to hallucinate and mentally flounder in vistas of alienage, as their waking life becomes more dreamlike in nature. Then there is the matter of Skeletal Face, whose friendly facade has given way to a murderous side, leading Cody and Brooke to regret their explorations of the Dream Realm.
