Police Officer Jared Reed specializes in death notices for a good reason. Quite often, when delivering the sad news, the spirits of the dead will come inside him, allowing the victim and their surviving family members to share one last moment. The living has no conscious memory of the ordeal. This unique ability goes back to childhood. At the age of 12, his little brother died. In his early 20’s, his fiancé dies. They all return to dwell within him to talk to their loved ones—except him. Unable to communicate with them, he can only be a spectator. Over the years, he kept this ability a secret, along with his pain. A loner, Jared is scared to get close to anyone. Things begin to change. He discovers a few others who share his ability. He joins their support group. He also finds new feelings for a female newspaper reporter, Samantha. Then, he delivers some death notices for the victim of a serial killer. He can see glimpses of the maniac, but cannot find any hard tangible evidence. As he learns to trust new people and continues his police work—the investigation leads to a deadly secret.
