Although my usual work is writing, this time, I have decided to embark on a completely different project. A project in which I intend to unite my love for literature with my other great passion; illustration.Like any writer, I have received multiple literary influences throughout my life. Among all of them, I remember with special affection my initial incursions into fantasy literature and especially in the world of horror. Among the authors who passed through my bedside table, two of the great writers of gothic horror stand out without a doubt; Howard Phillips Lovecraft and Edgard Allan Poe.That is why I have decided to choose them to start this new adventure, in which, under the imprint "Klassic Books", I intend to make a chronological compilation of all their works, commenting on each one of them. My intention is to go through his professional career, story by story, learning, together with you, about his literary evolution. In addition, I will immerse myself in his dreams and nightmares through a series of illustrations, which will accompany each work.Today begins this adventure with this volume that you have in your hands, in which the first twelve works of H. P. Lovecraft are compiled. In these pages, we will witness his literary and personal evolution; from the first children's stories, full of innocence and naivety, to the irruption of gothic and variegated imagery, which would become the hallmark of one of the most influential writers of the United States.Illustrating these stories has allowed me to admire, from a completely different point of view, Lovecraft's rich mythology. Delving into his fears, his hopes and his dreams, and trying to reflect them with my brushes, chronologically, as he himself must have done, has led me to rediscover his figure in a way I could not have imagined. I hope that you will join me in this adventure and that, like me, you will immerse yourself in the stories of H. P. Lovecraft and rediscover one of the most brilliant writers of the twentieth century.Juan Carlos Boíza Lópezwww.jcboiza.comwww.klassicbooks.com
