Open season has been declared on witchesBook Three of the Iona Kyle SeriesA therapist in the city of York, Iona Kyle hides from a dark past in a dangerous occult society, whilst covertly helping people with her psychic skills and ritual magick.Several people are murdered in and around York, their mutilated bodies displayed in gruesome tableaus, and photographs are uploaded onto a website which the authorities are unable to close down. For some reason, Iona's personal details have also been broadcast there, threatening her meticulously guarded anonymity.Her only option is to track down the killers and terminate the site, but this isn't going to be easy with Liam Gideon trying to burn her alive. Colonel Gideon, an evangelist in the American army, has been hunting witches in the States. He and his cult are now in England and Iona's name is at the top of their kill list.

It was bitterly cold this January night and steam billowed around Goldberg's body. Panting faster, he looked down towards his tethered ankles, unable to believe what he saw, then tipping back his head, he peered along the taut length of rope with bulging eyes. Rational thought was no longer possible, blood loss and excruciating pain ensured that, but he sensed that the lowering had ceased and he'd been left dangling from the bridge by his wrists, spinning slowly above the dark river. His midriff sizzled in white-hot pain, the agony filling his entire world. Yes, it was truly bizarre, the things that went through your mind at such times. The first-aid courses had taught him many facts that were peripheral to the actual training and, although it had been several decades, some of the weirder and more amazing statistics were still lodged in his memory - the human large intestine was over five feet in length and the small intestine over twenty. He looked down again at the glistening coils of tubing that dangled below, his vision misting as consciousness finally drained away. They appeared so much longer.

About the Author

Ian was born in the north of England, where he worked for three hectic decades as an operational firefighter with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. He has spent the past twenty something years in a village near Selby, where he writes urban fantasy, horror and supernatural thrillers. His interests include travelling, usually through Asia and the Americas, walking the North York Moors and Dales, natural history with an emphasis on birds, real ale, and ridding the world of all known evils. He also feels decidedly peculiar speaking in the third person and may have to do this in the future using a sinister ventriloquist's doll.
