SLEEPAWAY CAMP 4: THE SURVIVOR

Ever wonder what really happened to the murderous maniac Angela Baker? Well, same. This episode tackles the semi-completed sequel 'Sleepaway Camp 4: The Survivor'.

With only 30 minutes of footage shot, Double Helix Rainboy Films went bankrupt in the middle of production of this bonkers sequel to the 'Sleepaway Camp' films.

20 years later, a group of fans found the footage and pieced together the scraps into the strangest horror film we've yet to cover.

The Greatest FRIDAY THE 13TH Sequel Never Made [with Jinx] - Development Hell: The Unmade Horror Movie Podcast

The Greatest FRIDAY THE 13TH Sequel Never Made [with Jinx]

Released on 07/09/2024

Summer is back with a vengeance. And while everyone deserves a bit of vacation, to keep Development Hell fans satiated, we're rewinding back to some of our best and hottest summer-themed episodes! First up:

NICK ANTOSCA'S FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GREATEST FRIDAY SEQUEL NEVER MADE

A few years back, iconic author Jason 'Jinx' Jenkins and I were gobsmacked to uncover Nick Antosca's and David Bruckner's 2015 'Friday the 13th' reboot for Platinum Dunes and Paramount.

When the project fell apart, Antosca shared his script on Twitter, and boy is it a doozy. This canceled 2015 screenplay is scary, stunning, and downright brilliant. Listen now for a detailed breakdown of this inventive unmade reboot.

Jinx and I get into the gritty details of this magnificent script. And now that Antosca is rumored to be overtaking A24's troubled CRYSTAL LAKE television series, there couldn't be a better time than now to revisit this fan-favorite episode.

REVIVAL [Stephen King Unseen Part IV] - Development Hell: The Unmade Horror Movie Podcast

REVIVAL [Stephen King Unseen Part IV]

Released on 07/02/2024

DEVELOPMENT HELL presents STEPHEN KING UNSEEN, a 4-part limited audio series unearthing lost, canceled, and troubled adaptations from the Master of Horror.

Part IV: REVIVAL

For the series finale of STEPHEN KING UNSEEN, we take a shocking look at one of the darkest King stories yet to receive an adaptation. REVIVAL was published in 2014, and there have been two major attempts to bring this cruel and mean horror story to the screen. The book concerns two men whose lives have been interconnected over several decades, cultivating with a terrifying and maddening peek into a potentially unforgiving afterlife.

First, Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) attempted to craft a film version but produced the 2020 CBS All Access miniseries remake of The Stand instead. A few years later, King favorite Mike Flanagan (Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep) was tapped to write and direct REVIVAL for the big screen. We uncover why neither adaptation has yet to see the light of day and then draw our own conclusions about whether or not this movie will ever get produced.

Podcaster and Constant Reader Rachel Reeves (@thevinylgrrrl) joins us as a cohost for STEPHEN KING UNSEEN.
