This week, Cyrus and Katie sit down for a movie with that starts out promising and turns into a total disjointed trainwreck - not unlike this podcast! All You Need Is Death (2023) has everything - affairs, folk music, an old lady in a cupboard, shadow monsters, gender weirdness, and PUPPETS. Come on down and shame Cyrus for being a hiking pervert, listen to our hot takes about bad movie titles, and where to get yourself a Temu vaginoplasty.

A pet baby alligator is flushed down a toilet and survives in the city sewers. Twelve years later, it grows to an enormous size thanks to a diet of discarded laboratory dogs injected with growth hormones. Now, humans have entered the menu.

Horror movies can be about a lot of things - grief, loneliness, change, the unknown - but sometimes, horror is about a scary thing being REALLY, REALLY BIG. Alligator is a movie that says "the alligator is very scary in its natural habitat, so let's take it out of that habitat and have it just sort of gingerly waddle around a scale model of a city". It's a movie with 3/5ths of an alligator puppet, a lead actor with a rapidly receding hairline, and a really very bad sequel. We also talk briefly about Crawl, which was actually decently scary, if you're scared of alligators, which Katie, unfortunately, is.

Determined to outshine her beautiful stepsister, Elvira resorts to extreme measures to win the prince's heart in this dark re-imagining of the Cinderella fairy tale.

We're jumping to the U's for a second to bring you guys Den Stygge Stesøsteren (2025) - The Ugly Stepsister for us English speakers, and this one is a DOOZY. Y'all, this one is so good. It's so gross. It's so good and so gross. A beautiful body horror nightmare that had us literally squirming in our seats and nauseated just thinking about some of the scenes. Love that for us. Also mentioned are the SAW escape room, children's literature academic Maria Tatar, and how many wieners and buttholes should be in Cinderella.

We're back in it buddies, this time with Allegoria (2022), an anthology movie directed by a man named SPIDER ONE and if that's not enough to get you interested, well, we're just wildly different people then. This week, Cyrus and Katie pick apart this low-budget anthology piece and while it's a little unfocused, we liked it's solid acting and decent dialogue! Come by to hear about our chicken woes, our beef with Wikipedia, and the ballad of Mr. Crispy Marshmallow.

All The Moons is a Basque film, and the first vampire movie to be covered on Shudder Buddies (if you don't count our bonersode on Sinners (2025), which I do not) and it's....well, it's a slow, contemplative, meditative take on the vampiric condition. Beautifully shot, well-acted, well-cast, and from a region we knew very little about, this movie has a lot to recommend! It's a little bit of a slog for our tastes, but we're big horny dummies who like our movies full of blood covered titties, so, we're probably the ones who are in the wrong here.

Cyrus and Katie get into their first Giallo this week with Aenigma, a Fulci joint that is wild. Snails, evil statues, telekinesis - Aenigma has it all, buuuuuut kind of underdelivers on its main premise. And on the lingerie-clad coeds. We were promised lingerie-clad coeds!!! Still, come and join us for an intensely 80's movie made in Bosnia by an Italian about a boarding school in America.

Listen, buddies. We knew there'd be some duds in here - we didn't expect quite so big a stinker so early on, but hey, that's life. This week, Cyrus and Katie tackle a movie so incredibly bad they can't even dredge up 30 minutes worth of content about it. A movie trying to make a point about mental illness, but can neither stick the landing nor the lift-off nor any part in between.

There's few things worse than a movie with a lot of potential that ends up magnificently putting its foot in the ectoplasm. This week Cyrus and Katie touch on the things this 2020 Spanish horror film did decently well, and then spend most of the episode groaning about the transphobia and ableism. Horror is a fantastic genre to explore some of the most troubling aspects of society, but buddies, this ain't it.

"A family inherits a house with 12 ghosts who want a 13th."

This week, Cyrus and Katie watch the William Castle classic about a house full of ghosts and the family who is forced to cohabitate with them. This movie has everything - a real actual lion, the Swedish Chef from the Muppets, death bed the bed that eats people, and a horror movie that answers the question: do horror movie husbands be sleepin'? They sure do. We also cover the ""remake"" from 2001, and had a hell of a time doing it. Matthew Lillard and F. Murray Abraham? Our cups runneth over.

Well, Katie spends the whole episode calling this one "0.00mhz", which is incorrect, so we're off to a terrific start. This week, our intrepid buddies check out a Korean horror movie that begs the question "is anything scarier than lots of gross wet hair?". In the episode we discuss Korean shamanism, the differences between eastern and western ghost tropes, and how good of a movie Exhuma (2024) was. Seriously, go watch it.
