Something Borrowed, Something BOO: High Spirits (1988)
Released on 06/20/2024
We're back to BOOsics on this week's episode of Nightmare on Film Street, talking about horny ghosts, drunk vacationers, and Jennifer Tilly! Join your horror hosts Jon & Kim as they sit down for a sober discussion about the ins and outs of having sex with a ghost, as depicted in the unsurprisingly underseen 80s sex comedy High Spirits (1988).
Starring a truly unpredictable cast, including Bever D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill Vol. 2), Steve Guttenberg (3 Men and A Baby), Liam Neeson (Taken), Peter O'Toole (Ratatouille), Jennifer Tilly (Bride of Chucky), and more (!) High Spirits is an unhinged tale of a Hotel owner trying desperately to save the family castle by pretending that it's haunted. Of course, when real ghosts appear and stack shacking up with the guests, things go a little wonky. Words cannot express the sheer insanity of this far-fetched farce, but hopeful a boatload of uncomfortable laughter and bad jokes can. Join uss...

Interview: Author Paul Tremblay Talks HORROR MOVIE: A NOVEL
Released on 06/13/2024
Horror author Paul Tremblay joins your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon on this week's episode of Nightmare on Film Street to discuss his newest work Horror Movie: A Novel. Available everywhere spooky books are sold, Horror Movie: A Novel is pure Found Fiction about a cursed movie, never released to the public following the disturbing events of its production back in 1993. But now that a big budget reboot is underway the sole surviving member of the original crew must face the horrors of the past again...
Paul Tremblay's previous novel The Cabin At The End of The World was recently adapted by M Night Shyamalan for Knock At The Cabin and his breakout A Head Full of Ghosts is currently in development. Horror Movie: A Novel takes inspiration from those ventures in the Hollywood system but it also serves as a vehicle for Tremblay to talk about his own obsessions with horror movies. Join us for a chat with three confirmed horror movie addicts, talking about what makes books scarier than movies, book recommendations for the modern horror fan, and how Tremblay discovered his passion for writing later in life.Â

My Milk Cow Brings All The Greys To The Farm: No One Will Save You (2023)
Released on 05/30/2024
We're caught in the countryside this week on the Nightmare on Film Street horror movie podcast with modern sci-fi scare No One Will Save You (2023)! Your horror hosts Kimmi and Jon dive headfirst into our second alien invasion of the month, and it's a grey-filled fight for survival!
No One Will Save You (2023) follows Brynn Adams, played by Kaitlyn Dever, who finds herself up against some seriously uninvited extraterrestrial guests. With tractor beams, rude neighbours, and extra squirmy body snatchers making her night a living nightmare, Brynn has to rely on her instincts and ingenuity to survive.
This spooky sci-fi chiller is an invigorating supernatural showdown from start to finish, with almost zero dialogue! We talk alien invasion strategies, theorize about the greys' duplicating, body-hopping tendencies, and discuss that controversial ending that divided audiences.

My Milk Cow Brings All The Greys To The Farm: Signs (2002)
Released on 05/23/2024
We're talking M. Night Shyamalan's Signs (2002) this week on the Nightmare on Film Street horror movie podcast, and we're feeling the rural horror love. Join your horror hosts Kimmi and Jon as they dissect the emotions from the facts, and get down to the real meat of it; why would aliens who have a weakness to water wage war on a planet that's 80% wet?
We've got corn. We've got crop circles. We've got crackling baby monitors. We've got shadows on the roof. We've got... surprisingly few cows?
Signs (2002) stars Mel Gibson as Graham Hess, a former preacher turned farmer who's lost his faith after a family tragedy. Living on a Pennsylvania farm with his brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) and his two kids, Morgan (Rory Culkin) and Bo (Abigail Breslin), Graham starts noticing some seriously weird stuff around his property. As the Hess family tries to figure out what's going on and fight off some not-very-persistent extraterrestrials (save for one that's got a personal vendetta to settle), they confront their deepest fears and find strength in each other.
So, grab your tinfoil hats and join us as we dive into the mystery and corn-filled madness of Signs (2002). We'll debate alien invasion logistics, question the tactical genius of water-phobic extraterrestrials, and maybe even throw in a few corn puns for good measure. No, we definitely will.
