A woman named Neva Svether from Moscow Russia, who just lost her husband from a car accident. She continues with her life dealing with her sadness when suddenly she gets a visit from a ghost in her apartment. An Englishman named Sir Charles who came to comfort her from the pain. Neva doesn't believe what she is experiencing and they make love in the night. As the days progress, she feels really good. She tells her psychologist about Charles and her family but she doesn't get the validation that she feels she deserves. They think she is imagining the whole thing and that Charles is in her head. She gets frustrated and is willing to put her life on the line to be with him. "The Russian Lover" is a romance -ghost story for teenage girls and adult women. It has similarities to "Bram Stroker's Dracula" with the theme that love is forever and so is the human spirit.
